*** NOTICE: Ecamegapedal is no longer actively developed ***

Authors of Ecamegapedal have returned back to basics, and are now focusing on Ecasound development only. No new development of Ecamegapedal is expected to happen anymore (last release is from 2004). Fortunately the Linux audio scene nowadays offer many great apps that deliver similar features (and many many more) as Ecamegapedal. To name a few:

My thanks to all who have participated in Ecamegapedal development! -Kai Vehmanen, Jul 08 2008

*** NOTICE END ***

Ecamegapedal is a real-time effect processor software with a graphical user interface for controlling the effect parameters. It is meant to be used as a virtual guitar-fx or studio effect box. In addition to real-time operation, Ecamegapedal also supports reading from and writing to audio files. All audio object and effect plugin types provided by the Ecasound libraries are supported. This includes ALSA, JACK, OSS, aRts, over 20 file formats, over 30 effect types, LADSPA plugins and multi-operator effect presets. Ecamegapedal's implementation is based on Ecasound and Qt libraries.

If you are interested in Ecamegapedal, you should also check applications such as JACK Rack, and Creox. A good list of Linux/BSD effect processing apps is available at linux-sound.org.

Ecamegapedal is free software. It is distributed under terms of the GNU General Public License. See the file 'COPYING' for details. This file is included in all Ecamegapedal distribution packages.

For a brief overview of Ecamegapedal's functionality, see the ecamegapedal(1) manual page.

Ecamegapedal development is headed by Kai Vehmanen. He is responsible for most of the code and documentation. The Ecamegapedal pixmaps were designed by Arto Hamara. The VU-meter code originates from Ritscher Meinhard's KCorrMeter.
